There’s only one episode left, fans from across Canada have sent in their heartfelt sentiments and messages (and even a poem!) to the cast for the “Flashpoint Finale Contest.”

The winner of Week 3 is Lisa Hope from Dundas, Ont. Lisa has won a behind-the-scenes signed cast photo.

Excerpts from Week Two’s contest entries:

An Ode to Flashpoint

Every Thursday from 10 to 11
I get so excited to see what will happen
On Flashpoint you never know what will come next
But Team One always succeeds so I’m never vexed.

Parker is smart and knows how to take charge
Which is probably why he is the sarge
He always knows how to talk a subject down
And protects the streets every day in my hometown
You can count on Greg to get you out of any situation
And never look for any commendation.

Ed, the team leader can hardly be shaken
He knows what to do and is never mistaken
He has made some tough calls and taken some hard shots
It’s no wonder these images still haunt his thoughts
But Ed is strong and can most definitely get through it
If he left the team there’d be a huge deficit.

Spike and his bombs, what a love affair
It is a talent to which no one can compare
When it comes to defusing bombs Spike is a beast
He deserves the world’s biggest Italian feast
He’s unlike any other, his kindness and caring
He’d give up his life if it meant another he’d be saving.

Sam, the sniper, ex-military
Faces challenges head-on with incomparable bravery
As Scorpio he always finds the solution
For him there is no substitution
I’ll never forget back in season one
When Ed sent him on a Tim Horton’s run.

Jules is a role model for all young women
As negotiator she can connect with both adults and children
She is smart and nurturing and pretty and petite
But if you mess with her you’ll meet defeat
Tough and confident, she knows what to do
There is no challenge she cannot get through.

It’s been five seasons and you’re still going strong
But we must say good-bye, adios, so long
To everyone involved in this show to date
Thank you for making Flashpoint so great.

Amy Gee from Calgary, Alta.

Thank you so much for lighting up the small screen week after week with your stories of courage under fire, family unity, and the desire to serve the law.  Flashpoint was more than just a cookie-cutter police procedural, each episode you have crafted and delivered showed us the true grit and heart it takes to be a police officer in times where your own values of law and order and being challenged.  Also, Flashpoint serves as a reminder that sometimes, the "bad guy" might have more in common with the "good guy" than you think, when desperate measures push him or her to do something they might not have thought of doing otherwise.

Some stories struck sensitive chords in my heart, especially "Attention Shoppers", in which the girl's torment at the hands of gangs led me to recall my own dark days at the hands of schoolyard bullies.  Seeing Jules standing out on that ledge and reaching out to her reminded me that, even in our darkest times, there are people out there who care about your well-being, even if it's only for a few minutes...just enough to take your hand and help you over the ledge, so that you have just enough strength to wake up and face tomorrow.

It has been a wonderful five-year run, and I am happy to have been part of it.  As each of you move on to future pursuits, never forget the lives and hearts you have touched with the stories you have shared for us.  We certainly wouldn't.

Jennifer Willicombe (on behalf of Riley Willicombe, the 13-year-old super fan), Mississauga, Ont.

I wanted to say thank you to the production team, cast and crew for bringing “Flashpoint” to my TV every week. “Flashpoint” is not another "cop show”. It’s about the job and so much more. It's a human nature story. Each episode keeps you on the edge of your seat – the plot of each episode hooks you. But it's the characters and how they handle each situation that keeps you coming back week after week. You see each character in their moment of greatness and then their flaws and scars as they come to terms with the difficult decisions they are sometimes forced to make. We see qualities in each character that we the viewer’s share or relate to. It makes the characters personal struggles relatable. We celebrate their victories from our living rooms. It's a realistic view of one of the most important and difficult careers one could choose.
My 13-year-old son Riley is also hooked on your show and dreams of one day being a police officer. Perhaps even in the S.R.U. He never misses an episode!  For Halloween he dressed up as "Sam.”  He is probably your biggest fan. I'd say he is a super fan. He is having a little trouble accepting the show is ending.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful show with Canadians...and goodbye. We will miss you, though I suspect Santa Claus will have to drop some “Flashpoint” DVDs under the tree.
