CTV’s FLASHPOINT Off To Explosive Start As 1.41 Million Viewers Watch Final Season Premiere

– FLASHPOINT wins its timeslot with total viewers and all key demos –

Toronto, ON (September 21, 2012) – Last night’s heart-pumping final season premiere of FLASHPOINT delivered 1.41 million viewers on CTV, winning its new Thursdays at 10 p.m. timeslot with total viewers and all key demos. Building 22% from its TWO AND A HALF MEN encore lead-in, FLASHPOINT was up 5% with A25-54 from its Season 4 Fall premiere.

In the riveting season premiere, Team One’s chase to take down a volatile man on the hunt for his ex-wife and daughter eventually led to a stunning rooftop face-off, resulting in potentially devastating consequences for Ed and the entire SRU.

Online, FLASHPOINT’s final season premiere was one of the most socially buzzed-about shows of the fall season in Canada. Social posts peaked in the thousands with show-name mentions on popular social networks during the broadcast.

At 8 p.m. CTV and CTV Two claimed the Top 2 programs in the hour. An encore episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY delivered 2.05 million viewers, while at 8:30 p.m. a second THE BIG BANG encore episode delivered 2.47 million viewers, winning the night with total viewers, A25-54, and A18-49. Over on CTV Two, an audition episode of THE X FACTOR delivered 1.09 million viewers, the #2 program in the hour with total viewers and all key demos and up 17% with total viewers versus last week’s episode.

Next Thursday, Sept. 27 marks the debut of CTV’s new Thursday night power lineup with the highly anticipated season premieres of Canada’s #1 program THE BIG BANG THEORY (8 p.m. ET/PT), Canada’s #2 comedy TWO AND A HALF MEN (8:30 p.m. ET/PT), Canada’s #1 drama GREY’S ANATOMY (9 p.m. ET/PT), launching into an all-new episode of FLASHPOINT (10 p.m. ET/PT).


Viewers can catch an encore presentation of last night’s FLASHPOINT season premiere on Monday, Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Two.
